It is hard to believe Poppy won't show up at St Mary's Junior Site gate anymore, smiling and ready to collect Charlie. During those visits we would always chat about what she was doing and she would share the lovely things she had been involved in; she was especially proud of her roles in the various groups at Orleans Park. In the months before she died Poppy seemed happier than I'd ever known her, like she had finally settled within herself. Her new image radiated her personality and she appeared more confident somehow. I wonder what Poppy would have become were she still with us; an advocate for minority groups, a politician or as those of us who knew her well would predict- an artist.
Poppy left us too soon, but her memory lives on in us all.
