Tribute to Poppy Drew, June 2010 - March 2024
Dedicated to the memory of Poppy Drew
This site is a tribute to Poppy Drew, who was born on 20th June, 2010. She is much loved and will always be remembered.
Poppy was a vibrant, compassionate, and creative soul who brought colour and warmth into the lives of everyone she met. She had a gift for making others feel seen and valued, especially those who felt different or overlooked. Friends, family, and even passers-by were drawn to her easy charm, her kindness, and her infectious laugh.
A gifted artist, Poppy’s creativity flowed into every aspect of her life – from her striking anime-inspired artwork to her unique fashion sense and inventive designs. Her talent was widely recognised, and her piece 'Changing Forms' has gone on to win the Young Artists’ Summer Show People’s Choice Award 2025. This achievement stands as a testament not only to her skill, but to the joy and depth she poured into her art.
Poppy’s passions extended far beyond her art. She cared deeply about the environment, inclusivity, and equality. She championed LGBTQ+ rights as a proud member of the Umbrella Group, supported charities with bravery and generosity, even cutting her hair to donate to the Little Princess Trust. She embraced her local community in Twickenham with characteristic warmth.
She was a loving daughter, granddaughter, niece, cousin and a devoted sister to Charlie, with whom she shared a special bond full of laughter, loyalty, and love. Her family, friends, and community will forever remember her for her creativity, courage, and the indelible mark she left on their hearts.
In Poppy’s memory, her legacy continues. A charity is being established to use art as a means of wellbeing and healing, inspired by her belief in the power of creativity to connect and uplift. Through this, the spirit of Poppy – bold, colourful, and endlessly giving – will live on, making the world brighter for others, just as she always did.
